ㅤ”Now that Trump has imposed a 30 percent tariff on solar panels, one of China’s largest manufacturers of solar panels announced that it will be opening a production center in the U.S.”
ㅤ”The first 2.5 gigawatts of imported solar cells will be exempt from the tariffs.
ㅤThe International Trade Commission had urged President Trump to apply tariffs, ruling U.S. solar panel manufacturers are being harmed by cheap imports from China and Southeast Asia. It had recommended in October a tariff of on solar cells of about 30 percent and a tariff on solar panels between 10 percent and 35 percent. Those duties would decline over a four-year period.
ㅤAbout 95 percent of the solar cells and panels sold in the U.S. are made abroad, with most coming from China, Malaysia and the Philippines, according to SPV Market Research.”

ㅤ”Although China’s announcement on Thursday didn’t refer to the tax cuts, China’s vice finance minister vowed to ‘take proactive measures’ in response to the legislation.
ㅤThe Republican tax bill included a steep corporate income tax cut — from 35 to 21 percent — that the Trump administration pushed as a way to make the United States more competitive and draw companies away from nations with lower tax rates.”
ㅤô¿ô …Whoa! I kind of liked Schumer because he is one Dem that refrained from personal attacks on the President and stuck to lambasting Trump’s policies, which is what Chuck should be doing.
ㅤApparently less than a week after the Dems’ election victories, the DP leadership is getting desperate again.

ㅤô¿ô …Ridiculous and a hope killer for middle-income American’s. Jinping is exploiting the ignorant who have little knowledge of world economic history.
ㅤChina is “opening up” because it’s currently in China’s best interest to open up. They easily might reverse their official trade policy in less than a year.
ㅤBut it is currently NOT in the best interest of middle-income Americans for the USA to remain “opened up,” especially to China. That may change in the future as well.
ㅤThe fact that CNBC is praising Jinping shows how ignorance and bias abounds in the mainstream media. You probably won’t hear the WSJ praising Jinping for his line of crap.

ㅤô¿ô …Trump has said he will make friends with countries that want to be America’s friend. He will not try to be be friends with America’s enemies. How a government chooses to run its country is not a factor in the President’s policies. Trump is president of the USA, not the world.

ㅤ”As Trump heads to Asia for the first time as President next month – a trip that will include a high-stakes reunion with a newly empowered Chinese President Xi Jinping on his home turf – Trump’s son-in-law is expected to see his diplomatic role greatly diminished.”
